Washington, Feb 7, 2010 – What is Topper Shutt’s real name? At WUSA Channel 9 in Washington, DC, he is Chief Meteorologist and forecaster for WHUR-FM. Shutt started as substitute weather anchor and producer at CNN in Atlanta, Georgia and later moved to WTVK-TV (now WVLT-TV) in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1984 for a weekday weather anchor position.
In 1987 to 1988, Shutt spent his time in Greensboro, North Carolina as weekend weather anchor at WFMY-TV and joined WUSA in 1988, beginning to supply to forecasts to WHUR-FM.
Topper Shutt served as occasional stand-in for CBS “This Morning” between 1994 and 2000, joining weather anchors Craig Allen and Mark McEwen.
