American television actor and singer Pernell Roberts is dead.
Oslo, Jan 25, 2010 – Bonanza star Pernell Roberts died due to cancer at his home in Malibu on Sunday January 24 at the age of 81.
Roberts maried 4 times. 1951, his first marriage to a professor at Washington State University, Vera Mowry, with whom he has a son, Jonathan Christopher Roberts.
1962, Roberts maried Judith Anna LeBreque. 1972, he married Kara Knack and they divorced in 1996. Then the fourth wife was Eleanor Criswell.
He appeared in many popular TV shows such as Trapper John, M.D. and Diagnosis Murder.
Roberts also recorded a folk music album “Come All Ye Fair and Tender Ladies” which is presently available on compact disc as part of the Bonanza 4-CD fourth disc, boxed set on Bear Family.
