Atlanta, Dec 25, 2009 – well-loved and respected singer-songwriter Vic Chesnutt died at the age of 45. Chesnutt was proclaimed dead hours after slipping into a coma which largely believed to be a suicide attempt.
Vic Chesnutt career
Chesnutt was a songwriter who first earned the admiration of R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe in the late ’80s. His collaboration includes, Fugazi, Godspeed! You Black Emperor, Silver Mt. Zion Orchestra, Widespread Panic, Cracker, Lambchop, Throwing Muses, M. Ward, Cowboy Junkies, Madonna, R.E.M., Smashing Pumpkins, Garbage and many more.
Vic Chesnutt life and possible reason of the suicide issue
Chesnutt had health insurance but struggling to cover his significant health care costs. A car accident at the age of 18 left Chesnutt with a lifetime of complications, he’s in a wheelchair.
“right now, I am in huge trouble in that the hospital is suing me for $35,000 for payment, which is terrifying — and the rub is that I have health insurance.” Chesnutt told Spinner earlier this year.
Vic Chesnutt itself and his music made lots of people happy, and he will be remembered for that.
