New York, Dec 31, 2009 – Times Square bomb scare: Times Square ‘suspicious-looking’ van caused worry and scared many citizens in the city. Security forces have cordoned off parts of NY central square streets and issue a notice that people should evacuate several buildings including the Nasdaq stock market.
They say serious security is needed for NY as it is the number one terrorist target place in America, looking back the September 11 incident.

Hundreds of NY police and security officers moved to Times Square after a “false alarm” that drove the authorities to block traffic at the said area over a suspicious van “simply parked in a wrong place at the wrong time of year.”

Security was back to normal later after the authorities found no traces of a terror plot.
Paul Browne, NY Police Department spokesman says,
“There will be a big uniformed presence and lots of unseen officers in plain clothes, radiation sensors. Probably the most protected real estate in the city, or even the country, for that matter.”
The United State government spending billions of dollars on frequent security checks, forty two billion dollars on airport security alone over the past 8 years.
