Our 5-year-old projection LCD was getting fuzzy so we finally decided to spring for a new one. What a difference! The blacks are ebony. The images are sparkly clear. The colors are brilliant. The reflections, although faintly there if you look for them, are not bothersome at all. The low def pictures are better than the hi def ones were on the old set. I absolutely cannot make the image disappear no matter what angle my eyes are to the set–directly above, off to the side, or down below–so its viewing angle, for me, is every bit as good as any plasma or CRT. I haven’t yet noticed any fast motion blur, but to be fair, I never noticed any on the old set, either. Thus, the 240Hz doesn’t seem to be very important, although we haven’t tried watching a fast moving sporting event with it turned off. The only comparison between the old and the new, where the B750 isn’t as good, is the sound. But, hey, we really didn’t expect much anyway; we realized how tough it is to hide high fidelity speakers in a 2″ thick TV whose front is almost all picture. We expected to have to augment the sound with a separate sound system, so we were not disappointed with that.
The delivery guy didn’t have any white gloves, but I really can’t complain about his work. He didn’t spend a lot of time with us, but he did hook up our components and turn it on, so I can’t complain about that either.
The features of this set are many, and some we have not yet tried, but the main reason we have a TV in the first place is program watching, and that has become a hugely satisfying experience with the LN52B750.
