Florida, November 26, 2009 – Allen Iverson retired: The Allen Iverson retirement become the hottest buzz in the sports world today. He told ESPN basketball analyst and talk show host, Stephen A. Smith today that he is retiring from the National Basketball Association (NBA)…
“I would like to announce my plans to retire from the National Basketball Association. I always thought that when I left the game, it would be because I couldn’t help my team the way that I was accustomed to. However, that is not the case.
I still have tremendous love for the game, the desire to play, and a whole lot left in my tank. I feel strongly that I can still compete at the highest level.”
Iverson, played in Memphis Grizzlies three games this season before taking a leave of absence and ultimately being waived by the Grizzlies basketball team.
He played 13 wonderful seasons in his NBA career, he stared at the Philadelphia 76ers, then Denver Nuggets, to Detroit Pistons and lastly, Memphis Grizzlies.
